Clinical Observation on the Therapeutic Effect of Cefixime Infective Diseases in the Field of Otolaryngology

Abstract
|
|
|
For the purpose of the therapeutic effect of Cefixime(Suprax®), the clinical study was carried out in 30 selected cases suffering from the ENT disease, who visited the department of otolaryngology of the National Medical Center. Also of 30 cases, bacteriological floral and its sensitivity test toward cefixime have been studied. Following were obtained.
1. The overall efficacy rate was 83% in clinical trial.
2. The susceptibility of cefixime showed for Hemophilus influensa, Providencia stuartii, Gr.
A, f3-hemolytic streptococcus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, Staphylococcus aureus, and some resistance for staphylococcus aureus & Pseudomonas aeruginosa. 3. Generally, the side effects were minimal, but skin rash and mild nausea were noted.
